Foodie Review ~ The Vogue Cafe (Macquarie)

Welcome Back my foodie lovers! It has been a while since I went to a nice cafe! This cafe is my new love <3, I'm surprised that I haven't been there earlier! I am abosulately in love with this place. I love the design of the cafe, it's a very bright environment so you guys can work/study there but if music distracts you then it is probably not a place for you to study xP. However it is definately a place for hanging out with friends, families or even having dates! hehe.

As you walk in you will be welcomed with those wonderful decors. Those a downside is that because it is a very popular cafe, they have seating areas in the carpark (near the ticket payment machine) and some along the centre's pathways. This gives a little "messy" feel to the seats, plus all the "outside" seatings are usually not as comfortable as inside the cafe.
See! The area is bright inside!

Plus, they give you lollies <3 Totally capture the childish side of me hehe xD
I love this place so much that I went 2 days after the first time I went there ahaha. The menu has some pretty standard stuff but they offer a wide range of options for breakfast food lovers. Also there's breakfast menu is available all day so you don't to set an alarm and get there before 11!!

Menu

The menu is pretty small for food items but it has a lot of options for those who wanna meet up for a "coffee"!

Coffee

Mocha on the top left and Cappuccino on the bottom.

Food

Barista's breakky

The Vogue Piece
Sly Slider - *We made it vegetarian so there is no bacon in this*

J'adority -Overall

Cap: 4.5/5 (I love the beans, it's my favorite type where it has a hint of chocolate! However the froth isn't very smooth and also after a while it does fade a little. But I do love the coffee, I would still go back there for the coffee!!)

Mocha: 3.5/5 (Well.. I'm kinda not into Mocha's anymore as I find them too sweet.. However they use chocolate syrup on the side of the glass, you can stir in however much chocolate sauce you want and adjust your own sweetness. Make sure you don't stir all the chocolate syrup in, it will be too sweet!!)

Barista's Breakky: 4.9/5 (I LOVE IT!! The combination, and everything! BUT -0.1 cause the sour dough is a little stale :(. The mushrooms are cooked perfectly. They are also very generous with the mushrooms and chorizos. The pesto sauce and caramalised vinegar are served in the perfect amount. The poached eggs are perfect too. I love it when its runny yolk but cooked on the white part! Overall I really really love it just the bread... I didn't wanna be bias by giving it a perfect score so 4.9 it is haha!)

The Vogue Piece: 4/5 (I'm personally not a big fan of haloumi but again the bread is a little stale. However I do love this too. OMG the lemon is just a major plus!!!! Cause I'm a sour girl! Haha I love my vinegar and my lemon xD The combination is very nice, it's feels light. Also I've noticed that they are quite generous with the ingredients. They gave like 4 slices of haloumi. Their prices are quite reasonable too for what they give :)

Sly Slider: 2.5/5 (I find this quite plain but I guess it's coz we took out the bacon. Again.. the bread was a little stale. I wouldn't order this again, it does look very appealing but taste wise I don't recommend. It tastes like a scrambled eggs sandwich. The sauce wasn't enough so it was a little dry too.)

Overall, I would totally go back just for the barista breakfast!! It's a really nice place to hang out with friends, especially during weekdays it is nice and quite but on weekends it's little too crowded for my liking. The place is very nice and bright and the decor is very modern simple but with a hint of vintage. Also this is a place where your kids will love. They have a really cute serving method for the hot chocolate which I over saw the other table ordered. If you need a place for brunch, to catch up with friends or to rest from shopping with you kids, then this is a place for you!!! I will definitely go again :) The staffs are super nice as well, and if you love milkshakes, then you can try their killer shakes!

Hope you guys enjoyed my review, and hopefully you can try this place! Sorry for the quality of the photos as my camera ran out of battery.. :x

Until next time~ Ciao

Foodie Review~ The Wooden Whisk (Crows Nest/St Leonard)

Helllo my foodies!! Thank you for reading my blog and this time shall we explore this cafe in Crows Nest called The Wooden Whisk. I loooove this place guys!! I loveee it!! It is located close to the St Leonard station so you can definitively travel there by train :) Their website follows the same theme as the actual cafe which I like a lot!! The staffs are very nice and greeted us with warm welcome. Please note: if you do plan on visiting their operating hours is around 7am - 4pm on Monday to Saturday and they are closed on Sunday.

SO let's begin the food review!

Menu

This is their blackboard menu so it "seasonal" and changes from time to time. I find it very caring of them as some seats may be hard to read the blackboard.
The Menu uses a "earthy" brown paper which is very consistent with the cafe's theme and the menu has quite a bit of options!

Coffee

You can never go wrong with Mochas! Haha.. My friend actually taught me a trick! So if you haven't tried the coffee from a cafe and you should order mocha, because if the coffee is too weak, it will just be like a hot chocolate. BUT! If the mocha is bad... I would suggest you try another place.

Food

Breakfast Grazing Board - Breakfast Menu

Grilled Haloumi & Raw Vegetable Salad (added sides: Smoked Salmon) - Lunch Menu

J'adority -Overall

Mocha: 5/5 (I love the combination, I feel that the chocolate goes really well with the coffee beans, sometimes I can taste that the coffee and chocolate doesn't match, resulting the mocha tasting weird... But this one is good! Actually it's perfect! It has the right proportion between chocolate and coffee, and not too sweet for my taste xD!)

Breakfast Grazing Board: 4.5/5 (It's perfect for those days when you want a bit of everything - a bit of meat, a bit of potato, a bit of salad. I love it so much! The presentation and combination of each item is great! The eggs are perfectly poached, the bacons are a little crunchy on the edge but not overcooked. However, 1 downside is that I wish they gave more salad. I was super duper satisfy from the meal~~)

Grilled Haloumi & Raw Vegetable Salad (added sides: Smoked Salmon)4/5 (I love rocket salad!!! However, the salad proportion is a little less is comparison to amount of haloumi they've given. I guess I shouldn't complain since haloumi is more expensive right? HAHA. It comes with a Vinegar and Olive oil dressing and I could taste that they grilled the haloumi with the Olive oil, leaving a scent in the dressing. OH! and it's missing avocado.. I always have my salad with avocado so I felt like something was missing. But it was still good.)

Overall, I would definitely definitely will go back to it! There are so many things I wanted to try on the menu but my stomach is not big enough haha.. I preferred the Breakfast Grazing Board more than the salad. The coffee was really good too. Oh also, the service was great, staffs were really friendly and we didn't wait long for our food! Definitely recommend you guys to try it out!

Hope you guys enjoy this review!

Until next time ~ Ciao and have fun exploring! :D

Foodie Review~ The Wilkes (Artarmon)

Hey guys, sorry for not being able to update for so long!! But I found this amazing cafe for you guys!!! :D It's called The Wilkes.
The owner of this place is super cool and super nice!! My friend actually brought me here and she said their Mediterranean sandwich is really nice but I've haven't tried it.
This café is in Artarmon, right next to the train station so it very easy to travel if you can access the train.
Also it's perfect to walk around and explore those cute little Japanese groceries and the environment in Artarmon is so relaxing walk around after a satisfying meal!!! I personally love the area myself. :)

Here's a menu for you guys! This menu has more stuff than the Zomato one!! I forgot to take a photo of the drink menu but you guys can find it on zomato.

If it's  a nice sunny day, it perfect to sit outside!! :)

Beverages

The mocha is really really really goooood!!!!! I love this bean, it kinda more on the cocoa bitterness rather than a tobacco bitter. The froth is creamy and the coffee is hot! I hate lukewarm coffeess!!

For those out there who are looking for a bombass milkshake. This place serve you right! This is thick and has a load of topping and it was HUGE!! - $7.50

J'adority - Beverages

Mocha: 5/5 (I love the mocha!! The chocolate proportion is perfect and it is well mixed into the drink! You know how sometimes when you ordered a mocha and by the time it got to the bottom, all the chocolate residue are concentrated and made to super sweet? Well, this cafe will not let you know! I also love the flavour of beans as it is leaning towards a chocolate bitter side so it goes perfectly with the chocolate!!!!)

Tim Tam Milo Shakes: 4/5 (Traditional milk shakes are meant to be super thick, plus this is a gourmet shake, it makes it extra special. However, if you are someone like me who doesn't like milkshakes/thickshakes, you can always get a friend or family who loves milkshakes to order so  that you get the benefit of the topping like me ;) Hehehe..I personally don't like milk nor milkshake but I could taste the strong milo flavour in it unlike most places you taste only the flavour of milk..)

Brunch

Look at those colours~~ It's so spring! xD

Spring Omelette (Heirloom Tomato, Aspragus, Msuhroom, Fetta and Chilli Vinaigrette) - $16

Hash Benedict (Potato Hash, avocado, rocket, poached eggs, hollandaise w/ mushroom) - $18

Spring Salad w/ Atlantic Salmon Fillet (Fetta, baby carrot, broccoli and cauliflower, spinach, guacamole)  - about $20

J'adority - Lunch

Spring Omelette: 4/5 (I love the fact it has kale, the mushrooms are super fresh and suprising the asparagus doesn't taste bad at all for someone who doesn't eat asparagus normally! Though I must say it is a little bit dry but still fluffy.)

Hash Beneditc w/ mushroom (veg): 5/5 (I love the potato hash!!!! You cannot have it anywhere else, it is just straight up different and unique. I actually have never imagine egg benedict would go well with hashbrowns or potatoes. When I bite into that has benedict, the runny yolk coated the potato hash, balancing the deep fried oilness or the hash. It is just heaven. For someone like me who loves POTATOES!! You will like this dish. However the portion is a little smaller than usual since the potato hashes are less filling than english muffins.)
Spring Salad w/ Atlantic Salmon fillet (Special menu): 5/5 (The fillet is not overcooked and grilled to just right, so it is not dry! Accompany with the colourful looking and fresh vegetables just makes the dishes ten times better. I also love the combination of salmon and guacamole, it is so perfect together!!)

J'adority - Overall experience

Environment: 5/5 (I love the way the cafe is set up. It allows you the option to sit inside or outside. We sat outside and the weather was perfect, though some tables might be slanted due to the uneven surface of the floor. It's a nice place to have a coffee break or chill with your friends!)

Friendliness of staffs: 5/5 (The boss is super friendly and super nice!! The staff members always smiling and respecting customers. This is a big plus!!)
Uniqueness?: 5/5 (Totally!! They have the super bomb shakes, they have a really different and cute setting - you will know what I'm talking about when you find the The lego Mona Lisa and the cute little poster! The food there is just not the same old usual cafe food! So if you want cafe food but wanna try something new, you should check this place out!!!)

Revisit?: 5/5 (Definately!!! I love the food, I love the coffees, they have really pretty cakes and desserts, sitting in the cafe just makes you feel really relax and comfotable and etc... I can go on the whole day xD! I would definitely drop by to get coffee there whenever I'm in that area!!!)

That's it for today!! Hopefully this review help you guys :) Until my next review, ciao~ xoxo

Makeup Review ~ Elf studio Contouring Blush & Bronzing Powder (St Lucia)

Heyy guys~ For the past few posts I wrote are about fooodie reviews, so I decided to throw in some make-up products review for you guys.

I have reviewed Elf products for you guys before so if you want to check out more products from Elf, you can check out their website. You can also find Elf products in the Kmart stores in Australia. However, they don't have the full range of all the products so you will have to test your lucks. Like this Blush and Bronzing Duo, I actually haven't seen this before, and when I saw it - I MUST get it!!!

I super excited to try since they are so many good reviews about and many have said it is a dupe of the NARS blush (Orgasm) and Bronzer (Laguna).

This is what it looks like when you grab them off the shelves. I kinda like the packaging hehe ~ Very classic

So this is what it looks like inside. I think is looks like NARS's packaging, don't you think??
So here are some swatches from you guys :) The swatches on the inside are blended out.

My thoughts on the product

So when I first opened the packaging, I was super super super excited to try it out since I have been wanting to purchase this but could't get my hands on them until recently!!! I love the packaging and all but I when I tried to swatch the product, I was quite disappointed.

As you can see the swatches above, I was disappointed in the colour payoff. It wasn't as pigmented as I wanted it to be. For the swatches above, I had to pack on the product quite a bit for the colour to show. Though the bronzer is quite pigmented!!

I personally have quite fair skin tone so I think the duo isn't a very suitable product even though it's the lightest colour in the range. I still like the product but I probably have to use it differently... Since I don't like throwing things away. I'm currently using the blush as a highlight on the cheeks. Also I don't like packing on so much product on my face, I would use this blush when I want a sheen or a very very suttle, almost-not-showing blush on itself (LOL that name xD!) or on top of my blush very lightly as a highlight. It also has some glitters in it so if you go fo very natural look, it will work as a highlight + blush. For the bronzer, I would still use it for contouring but I have to spend quite a bit of time to make sure the product blends .. since this shade is a little dark for me.. I would only use contouring on special occasions or when I know I'll take a lot of photos that day xD!

Here's a tip guys: DON'T USE A BRUSH to pick up the products, use your FINGERS or if you do use a brush do it very softly tap your brush in like it's fragile!!
Trust me.. I tried it but it just got very messy as the product is very powdery.. The product itself isn't too bad, it is quite smooth when you glide fingers on the product but it isn't like buttery smooth. It doesn't have any scent or so suttle that I can't smell haha!! For the price, $8 AUD it has quite decent amount of product. I find it very convenient for travelling since it contains both! And yeah for the price it's not bad, I was just disappointed that it gets very messy with a brush.

J'adority

Price: 5/5 (Well, I gotta be honest. I do like the price since you get both blush and bronzer for AUD $8!! Sigh, my Asian-ness is back again hahaha)
Creaminess/Smoothness: 4/5 (When you glide your fingers on the product, it's quite smooth!!)
Pigmentation: 3.5/5 (As you can see in my swatches, the colour payoff is not that good.. For the sake of the photo, I do have to pack on quite a bit of product for the blush. However, the bronzer is quite pigmented!)
Packaging: 5/5 (I wish I could rate this higher haha! But yeah, I love the packaging so much!! IT'S SO PRETTY!!!! <3)
Amount of Product: 4.5/5 (I think they do give us quite a fair amount of product with the given price..)
Practicality: 3.5/5 (The fact that it gets super powdery and messy puts me off quite a bit!! I very disappointed in that and I find using fingers won't allow me to blend very well. Though I like how it's a duo so it very convenient for travelling.)

Overall J'adority: 3/5 (I probably WON'T REPURCHASE... :( I don't think it suits my skin tone and I'm too lazy to spend like 5 mins just to blend out the bronzer. Also the product is very chalky and powdery with a product. However I do love the packaging and the fact it's duo, and I can still find a way to use it so it wasn't rated that bad. Also I do like the blush if I want a super natural look. It's a nice blush with a little bit of glitters but it doesn't have the colour I expected it to..  But yeah, I think it's alright and  I probably won't buy it again.. However, this is first impression so I might changed my mind after I finished the product!! Hehe)

Thank you for reading my blog guys~~ I hope my review can help you :)
Until next time .. CIAO XOXO

Foodie Review~ Bean Drinking [Crows Nest]

Heyyy guys~~~ Sorry for being away for so long!! But here you go guys, another cafe review for you~ I'm on holidays so I'll definitely have more time to write reviews for you guys :)

I loooove Crows Nest and there's so many cafes for me to try but this one is Bean Drinking. They have pulled pork and they roast their own beans!! You guys can check out their site  - just click on the name, I've linked it for you guys.

There are other selection other than the menu. The bottled iced coffee are in the far left fridge xD
This is  their equipments for roasting and making their own coffee beans/blends. It looks so authentic!! :D
I love the vintagey design!! It's so nice~
That's our barista of the day. Haha jks
This is what their menu looks like - nice and simple
It has a really nice view and a very comfortable atmosphere - lucky that day has nice weather! It would nice to work/study here xD

Coffee

You guys know the drilll, coffee is a must hehe ~

I got a  Mocha and my friend got a cold drip.

~J'adority - Coffee~

Mocha: 4.7/5 (It has the perfect proportion between chocolate and coffee. You can also pick different type of coffee beans they have. But I just wish the coffee is a little hotter since I prefer mine a little extra hot xD - You will be missing out if you have tried this place!!!!!)

Though I don't have a picture of it cause I finished it before could take a picture hehe :3 but ...

Bottled Iced Coffee (you can find it in the fridge section): 4.5/5 (The bean has a more fruity base. Though you can check what beans were used for the iced coffee cause they don't use the same beans everyday. But I would prefer skim milk as I don't really like the flavour of milk).

Lunch

Smoked Ham Jaffle - with caramelised onion, mozzerella, balsamic reduction
Pulled Pork - braised pulled pork, 65 degree egg on brioche & wild roquette with sweet oven roasted beetroot salsa
The egg is perfect!! They said 65 degree, though I can't tell whether it is actually 65 degree haha but it's "half cooked"!

~J'adority - Lunch~

Smoked Ham Jaffle: 5/5 (Nothing can go wrong with that... I've always have that "sandwich maker" at home when I was a kid hehe~ It's beyond perfect, nothing more to say. Though it might not be a "very special" kind of dish but it's my childhood xD!!)

Pulled Pork: 4.6/5 (It's a really nice combination, pulled pork is very soft and it goes very well with beetroot and rocket omg my favourite salad!! However the bread is little over toasted so it's a little hard. Plus the egg is a winner!!!!!!!!! I like poached eggs but this one doesn't have a runny yolk :D Overall, is great but just I thought the pork would have a little more flavour in it.)

~J'adority - Overall~

Overall: 4.7/5 The experience and atmosphere is great and I definitely would go back for the coffee, maybe even try their desserts hehe. I personally love the Jaffle more~~ The mocha and the bottle iced coffee I would totally recommend you guys to try. So if you are around that area, you have to stop by the cafe or even grab a takeaway coffee!!!!

Once again, thank you for reading my blog~~ ^^ I'll probably have some beauty reviews for you guys!!! :D I have got some really great beauty products that you guys should try! :)

Until next time... ciao my lovely blog readers
