My Skincare Routine [Part 1] ~ Night time Zzz

Heyy peeps~ It's summer time and been soooo hot recently so I decided that I should write about skincare maintenance and products I use. In Australia the weather tends to be quite dry even in summertime!! That's why it is important that we maintain a good skin care routine especially night time.

Night skincare routine is essential and because during our sleep, we don't wear any make up, sunscreen and grime and pollution of counteractive products. Therefore making our skin very sensitive and fragile to dirts and bacteria, thus night time is about repairing and rebuilding the skin (and of course our body), hence it is important to have a good skincare routine before we hit the lights off and jump into bed.

My sister has recently moved in and lived with me so I have learnt so much from her. She is the type that's prone to break outs and pimples so she have extra care for her skin!! However I am not as crazy as her (in term of break outs) so what I suggest here will be suitable for those who have normal-oily skin.

Let's behind shall we?? :)

These are the products I use before I go to bed.

Step 1 - Clean face

Make sure you clean your face well!! For more details, you can check my post next week~~

Step 2 - Face Mask

Now that your face is cleaned~ It's time to start your skincare routine~~ Normally if I'm not busy, I would try to do face masks (I don't include sleeping masks though) every single day!! Sometimes I would do honey mask, sometimes I would skin masks. If not, I would skip this step and go to Step 3 below!!
Usually it just depends what I feel like haha (but it doesn't hurt to do more honey masks xD).
Honey is really good for skin and is useful for so many things and use. But I  only just use it as face mask. It's so simply!! Just apply honey on your face like a mask and let it set for about 5-10mins. Usually I would play with my phone during this time, but if I'm really low on time, I would go shower for this time period. Then I will rise it off and DRY!! The honey face mask usually have an immediate effect on me!! I can feel my face softer and moist afterwards, also I can see my cheeks slightly glow in pink :)

Step 3 - If I did face mask

Now, I would apply cream to make sure my skin will be moist for the rest of the night!!
If I did face masks before this step then I will apply either

The Saem - Urban Eco Harakeke Cream EX

I love the light texture and the lovely fresh (grass?) smell ~~
It's moist enough to keep your skin hydrated but not too oily at the same time.
I like to use this after I did face scrub.

My sister brought this over from Hong Kong so I have no idea about the price but this is the price on Ebay!! Also here's the link for the product details.

OR

Dr. Wu - Extra Hydrating Lotion with Aqua-Collagen

This is more light than The Saem but it doesn't have any scent. I swap around between this and The Saem lol
I like the lightliness of this and even though it's light but still very hydrated throughout the night!! However this is here is on the pricey side.

My sister brought this one too. This is a Taiwanese product. Here's the details and price on Amazon.

Step 4 - If I didn't do face mask

If I didn't do face masks then I will use sleeping mask. This one below is HOLY GRAIL to make your skin like baby smooth and juicy bouncy skin the next morning!!!

Kiss Skincare - Whitening Collagen Cream Mask

This is a product from Thailand and my sister brought it over from Hong Kong haha!! (She brought a lot, didn't she xD?) It is AAAMMMAAZZINGG!!! I swear I can see quite a huge difference the next morning!! My skin were bouncier and much more smooth and softer. I was really impress, plus the smell - who can resist a nice calming rose smell??. They do have it on Amazon (but yeah, apparently they changed their name so that's the same brand don't worry)!!
Normally I like to use it straight away without cream, but because I didn't put cream on so it feels quite dry. That's when this comes along~~

THEN I will apply~

Nature Republic - Aloe Vera Gel (92%)

It's very soothing when I apply on it own and absorbs super quick so I think it feels quite dry on it's own after it's absorbed. So I use this after I apply a thin layer of the Kiss face mask above. Also there 10 ways to use this - which I haven't tried but check it out!! :)
They do sell it on Ebay.

Sorry I didn't have a proper camera > <

Step 5 - Final step

Whether you are a guy or girl, it is important to maintain a good sleeping pattern. I know it is very hard sometime when you have so much work from UNI!!! But still try to jump in bed before 11pm and have at least 7 hours of rest. Our body rest most effectively between 11pm-2am (I think - around then xD) so even if you have to stay up, try catch some sleeps between those hours :)

Most of all keeping your skin nice and radiant does take some time and effort but once it becomes your habit you won't find it difficult!!

I wish all of you best of luck and thank you so much for reading!!!! :) I hope you guys like my posts??? :3
Have a great week guys!!

Cheers <3

Foodie Review~ Cow and Moon Gelato Bar [Newtown]

HELLO ~~ I hope you guys had a great week this week! :) As I am quite busy this and following couple of weeks.. My posts will be shorter >< but I still hope you guys enjoy it!!

Last time, I showed you guys how much I love about the Etude house Precious Mineral Any Cushion. SO! This time I want to show you guys something sweet and something you can eat!!xD That is .... Cow and Moon Gelato Bar in Newtown, Sydney! Apparently, it's number one Gelato bar in Sydney or Australia?? I'm not sure.. hehehe

I actually didn't know about this place until my friends brought me there after dinner the other day haha. When I went there, there was a huge line the goes around the store's corner!

I love how the store has a kinda vintagey feeling and they have espresso bar too! I love coffee but I was too full to try it out haha so I guess I'll have to go again xP
But yeah, love the store design is definitely quite cute too!

This is the cake and tarts section~ I think they have some chocolates too~ But their napoleon cake looks really good~ xP

First half of the gelato selection, mainly chocolate, coffee, strawberry and cream, coconut, vanilla etc .. xD

This is the second part of the gelato selection~ They have mainly fruit flavours :)
I was sharing with someone, so I got the large ;) There's Hazelnut Roche, Latte, Bella Chocolate and After dinner Mint.
There are two hazelnut flavours: Hazelnut and Hazelnut Roche (which is what I picked). My friend tried hazelnut they said it was good but I love Hazelnut Roche more because it taste like Ferrero Rocher!! It has little crunch or nuts (not sure.. hehe) in the gelato!! It's amazing cause I loveeee having crunchy stuff in ice cream or dessert, normally when I eat ice cream I would at corn flakes, rice bubbles or something biscuits crumbs. Also I am a hugeee fan of Ferrero Rocher haha~

Another flavour I picked is Latte, I love coffeee as I've mentioned before. Honestly, I think it's ok for those who like coffee but can't take too strong of the coffee flavour, I think you guys will love it. Unfortunately, I didn't see this flavour ... otherwise I would have picked Affogato!! I'm strong coffee drinker so Latte is too weak and sweet for me xS but Affogato is definitely my favourite!!

The Chocolate flavour is way too sweet for me so I couldn't really stand the sweetness after a couple spoons. I had to drink water afterwards too! But if you love strong and sweet chocolate flavour, I bet you will love it!

When I taste tested, I tried a couple of other flavours too. The Strawberry and cream (if I remembered it correctly) is quite nice too. It has a new strawberry flavour and kinda fresh after eating it. Not too sweet either! :)

The Cherry one, however I don't really like it ... It feels like I'm taking those liquid medicine back when I was a child haha. But maybe some of you guys will like it!? Haha different people have different preferences and taste buds so I'm letting you guys what I think of the flavours~

J'adority

*** 1 = not a fan ><, 5 = J'adore <3 ***

Bella Chocolate: 2/5 (too sweet for me xD)

Hazelnut Roche: 4.5/5 (love it~ but still a bit sweet after a while)
After dinner Mint: 1/5 (I don't like mint choc T.T)
Strawberry and Cream: 3.5/5 (nice and fresh~)
Cherry: 1/5 (Nup ... nup...)
Latte: 4/5 (I would love it more if it's coffee flavour is stronger - but it's latte afterall xO)
Affogato: 5/5!!!! (MY FAV~~ <3)
J'adority: 3/5 (I will probably go back again for just the Affogato flavour and to try the coffee if I'm in the area but I wouldn't travel all the way there just for the gelato. xO Also the gelato seems to melt a bit too quick.. or maybe it was hot that day)

Here's their facebook page for more details~

Urbanspoon review

This is a store in Sydney Newtown (Address: 181 Enmore Road, Enmore NSW 2042). I think this is their only store! Also if you are planning to go, don't eat too much beforehand and bring some water with you! (It's can get a bit too sweet)

They have 3 sizes:

  • Small - 1~2 flavours around $ 5 ? (can't remember..)
  • Medium - 1~3 flavours $ 6.50
  • Large - 1~4 flavours $ 8.50 (I got this.. but honestly, it's too much)

I hope you guys love my post!! Have a great week!! Thank you for reading my posts :) For more reviews check this out!

Hello!! My first review {Etude House Precious Mineral Any Cushion}

HELLLOO everybody!! Firstly, thank you for reading my blog!! :) A fresh new year, a fresh new start so I decided to start something new to 2015. I wanna bring you guys my loves, my experiences, and mostly HAPPINESS!! This is my very first post and it's about my review on a product I recently purchases, so I hope you guys will like it :)

Today I was do a review on the Etude House (Korean cosmetic brand) Precious Mineral Any cushion. I got it online so I had wait by mail everyday for it!! When I received it, I absolutely felt in love with the packaging, it's super adorable!! It comes with a box and the Cushion container (I have photos below). It's quite small and it suitable to bringing out with, especially for those who does make up on the train like I do .. hahaha

Came in a lovely cream coloured box ~ ^_^ It's gorgeous, isn't it?

Etude house ~ Precious Mineral Any Cushion (Natural Beige W13)

There is 2 compartments, the top for the cushion and the bottom is the cushion foundation part. It also came with a mirror!!

I love the design and the .... the whole thing haha!! It is very compact and there's a sealed compartment for the Cushion so the foundation wouldn't dry out. It also has a nice perfume scent in the foundation, but I can't quite figure out what scent it is. I bought this online on eBay for like $18 (AUD), super cheap right? However I couldn't try it out so I wasn't sure about which colour suits me but it turns out the Natural Biege colour suits me perfectly!

The coverage is medium to high. I like to having natural looks so I prefer to apply just one layer, however it is buildable.

Another thing is the sun protection in it, hehe because I'm Asian and afraid of the sunburn and freckles, Spf 50+/PA+++ is a go to point for me!! :)

It is also very easy to use and apply. Especially for those who are beginners like me xD! I think it gives an even and thin layer by using the sponge applicator and in a spreading motion when applying. However if you prefer to have a thicker layer, I would suggest dabbing motion.

I personally believe I have normal - oily skin so I tend to get quite oily skin throughout the day. However, when using this Precious Mineral Any Cushion as soon as I apply it may look a little shiny but my skin absorbs a little bit afterwards. I used a thin layer of powder (loose/press depending on how hot that day is) and topped with a mist, so it doesn't look as shiny xD. When I use this, I can tell my skin doesn't get as oily as normally it would!! Pretty good for people with oily skin haha~ So, I am really impressed about this and it would be good for summer so it doesn't melt away~ ^_^

Coverage: 3.7/5 (It has medium-high coverage, it's quite natural but it is also buildable!)
Easy to use: 5/5 (Easy to use, comes with a sponge and all you needa do is use the sponge applicator and apply!!)
Packaging & Practicality: 5/5 (The packaging is super cute! Also, its quite small and compact so perfect to just pop in your bags~ Ohhh! The mirror with it is also a big win win~)
Scent: 5/5 (Love the perfume smell, it nice and kinda refreshing~)
Long lasting: 4/5 (1 = does not last long, 5 = last long)
Price: 5/5 (It's quite cheap compared IOPE and Hera..)
J'adority: 4.5/5 (DEFINITELY REPURCHASING! xD)

* 1 = bad, 5 = good *

I did a little swatch on my hand. My face and my arms are couple shades different lol xD!!

Before and after applying. The left hand definitely is more bling haha (Use a powder on top always helps!)
# Note: there are no Etude House stores in Australia.. However there are some stores around that sell them but wayyy toooo pricey!! xO Here's a link, you guys can check it out!! ~ ^_^ (http://www.etudehouse.com/index.php/precious-mineral-any-cushion-ad.html) #

That's it for today! I hope you enjoyed my post!! Yeah.. this is my first blog so please let me know if I can improve on anything >.< Thank you again for reading my posts~~ <3
